Since September 2009 our school has been a member of the project called Svetova skola 2.
We have chosen a topic called Racism for that project. I think that there are a lot of racial problems all over the world and they are needed to be solved. This topic  is also important for our country.

My students - members of Svetova skola 2 -  created a paper tree and a short questionnaire connected with racism. A lot of our students and teachers filled it in. We started our cooperation with a supermarket called Kaufland situated near our school and with one elementary school in Ostrava- Poruba in Ukrajinska Street. The shop assistants and the pupils with their teachers were very nice and they answered our questions connected with Racism. They could also add their own opinions.

In April my students took part in Canada Days in Ostrava. They were connected with a lot of political issues  typical not only for Europe.  That discussion with our former and again contemporary minister of foreign affairs Karel  Schwarzenberg was very interesting for the students and the public, too.

In June 2010  Ms. Lydia Polackova visited our school and she gave a small talk to our students about the racial problems in our state, about the majority and the minority in the Czech Republic. Her own experience  and examples from work were interesting for students.
Ms. Polackova works in the municipal office in Ostrava and she is responsible for the Rome / or Gipsy / matters.
In June 2010 the coordinator and the  director of the project Svetova skola  2 - Ms. Pernicova and  Ms. Skalicka -  visited our school and had a talk with the Svetova skola 2 students. They came from our capital city Prague and  I think that they liked the friendly atmosphere at our school.
Students - members of Svetova skola 2 - decided to continue the project next year.
